Yoplait Original Yogurt Smoothies And Frozen Bars Recipes #Giveaway

Thank you to Yoplait sponsoring today’s post and helping me to feed my children a yummy and delicious #SweetSummerSnack! All opinions are 100% my own.

One of the greatest seasons of the year is most definitely summer time. Fortunately for us living in Miami, it’s always summer time all year round! However, unlike when we lived in NYC, we don’t have the ice cream truck passing by constantly. I miss being able to share those kinds of sweet summer moments with my girls and enjoy creating healthy and fun summer snack ideas.

To keep us cool I like to make smoothies and frozen yogurt pops, because yogurt desserts are delicious. These fun summer treats are not only cool and refreshing, but healthy too when using ingredients like Yoplait Original yogurt, which now has 25% less sugar. In fact, creating these treats allows me to bond with the girls because they can help me make them and gives them a sense of pride in their accomplishments.

For smoothies we like to choose one of our favorite yogurt flavors like the Yoplait Blueberry, Strawberry or Peach (grab a Yoplait yogurt coupon for your purchase) for our base. We then add fresh fruit that compliments the yogurt flavor we’ve chosen, like strawberries, bananas and blueberries, then blend away. A delicious smoothie is ready in less than 2 minutes and can be enjoyed anytime of the day – smoothies are great breakfast or lunch ideas for those hot days or as a #SweetSummerSnack.

Making frozen yogurt pops is a breeze. I purchased a mold with sticks from our local Publix supermarket the other day for just a couple of bucks. This week we made frozen yogurt pops with Yoplait Original Strawberry along with diced fresh strawberries and another batch with Yoplait Original Blueberry and fresh whole blueberries. I started by pouring in some Yoplait Original yogurt into the bottom of the pop mold and then Em helped out by adding the fresh fruit. We alternated these two simple ingredients until the mold was full, added the covered tops and popped the mold into the freezer.

I wanted to be sure that our frozen treats had set properly so I gave them about 24 hours. Those were probably the most excruciating 24 hours of my life with Em repeatedly asking if her yogurt pops were ready yet. Em was eager to enjoy the delicious flavor, and knowing that we had used the Yoplait Original yogurt with 25% less sugar I was totally okay with her having one for dessert the next evening, even though it was cutting it close to bedtime.

Papa took it a step further and actually fed her a frozen yogurt pop for dinner. He totally saw it as fitting and proper because she was being fussy and the only thing she never turns down it yogurt. I guess that’s probably why I allowed the girls to enjoy a Yoplait Original yogurt frozen bar this evening AFTER dinner – and didn’t mind the duel that ensued over which girl had the yummier bar (totally and completely the same ingredients).

Yoplait® Original yogurts come in a delicious variety of 25 flavors in total – however, our family really loves the Strawberry, Peach and Blueberry flavors the most. Visit Yoplait to see all the flavors, and recipes. Then come back and let me know what you think of these new flavors, and what recipes you would like to try! Let me know in the comments below!
