Taking the time to get to know a person reveals a lot more about you, and them. Sometimes we are faced with people and situations that we instantly feel uncomfortable with, trusting your gut is important, but so is trusting in people. While big and scary looking, Gruff the NeverBeast from Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast wouldn’t have stood a chance against the fairies of NeverLand. Thanks to the kindness and stubbornness of Fawn, the animal loving fairy, Gruff was not only given a chance to show his kindness, but also devotion to the world of NeverLand.

There will be times in your life where the thing you fear most, you need most. Just as Pixie Hollow desperately needed the protection that Gruff had to offer. Although Gruff appeared to be a beast that was trying to destroy Pixie Hollow, he was actually trying to protect it, along with the fairies and animals that lived there. Celebrate the return of Spring with the fun and adventurous fairies of Pixie Hollow with never-before-seen bonus extras available on Blu-ray Combo Pack & Disney Movies Anywhere.

This year during our annual Easter egg hunt, we will culminate by placing copies of the Tinker Bell and the Legend of the Neverbeast into the Easter baskets de todos mis sobrinas y sobrinos. I love being able to play the movie in both English y en Espanol para mi hijas. We swap the language every other viewing of the pelicula to give them an understanding of the differences in languages. This is helping not only them learn the Spanish language, but myself as well. The girls are getting to know both sides of their family and cultures, Russian and Cuban/Spaniard.

Even the most well-meaning people tend to judge. It happens to our family all the time. My own two little girls look nothing alike – I call them my Yin & Yang, but in their own way, they each resemble me.

Judgements and assumptions are easy to make, but are simply superficial. So take time to get to know the people and situations around you for you might miss out on an amazing friendship or opportunity.

Dime con quién andas, y te dire quién eres. / Tell me with whom you walk, and I will tell you who you are. – Spanish proverb

No hay mejor hermano que un buen vecino al lado. / There is no better brother than a good next-door neighbor. – Spanish proverb

I asked my son J-bird to answer this question: “How do you try to not judge people or situations quickly so you have an opportunity to really understand things first?” – I posed this question to him because as a college freshman he is being presented with these kinds of situations on a daily basis in life. I wanted to make sure he had a clear understanding and here is what he had to say (pardon the unkempt dorm room in the background):

5 Tips for Giving People and Situations An Opportunity (Never Judge a Book By It’s Cover)

1. Gather information – from the source

2. Listen and actually hear what is being told/said to you

3. Inquire about their life to find things you may have in common

4. Take on opportunities you may never have before and embrace the challenges

5. Next time you are at a big gathering or someone new moves in next door, take the time to get to know someone new

  • It is so easy to judge someone by appearance , rumors, or first impressions. I try to always get to know someone instead of making assumptions! I think it is so important, especially as a mommy, to lead as an example. I want others to always be accepting of my little girl so I am teaching her to always be accepting of others!
