This year during our annual Easter egg hunt, we will culminate by placing copies of the Tinker Bell and the Legend of the Neverbeast into the Easter baskets de todos mis sobrinas y sobrinos. Even the most well-meaning people tend to judge. It happens to our family all the time. My own two little girls look nothing alike – I call them my Yin & Yang, but in their own way, they each resemble me.

Judgements and assumptions are easy to make, but are simply superficial. So take time to get to know the people and situations around you for you might miss out on an amazing friendship or opportunity.

I asked my son J-bird to answer this question: “How do you try to not judge people or situations quickly so you have an opportunity to really understand things first?” – I posed this question to him because as a college freshman he is being presented with these kinds of situations on a daily basis in life.
