Summer Recipe: Best Ever Juicy Burger With Hellmann’s Latino Flavors Remix #Burgervention

Summer, summer, summertime. Time to sit back and unwind. Oh wait, isn’t that the beginning of a song by Will Smith? Well, summer time is finally here and so are the BBQ’s.

You are about to embark on the most creative flavorings your mouth has ever experienced. I am so happy that Hellmann’s asked me to help them in their staging of this summers “Burgervention”, putting an end to dry burgers across America. This 4th of July, declare your independence from dry burgers!

My inspiration for making this remix came from Hellmann’s “Best Ever Juicy Burger” recipe. I wanted to recreate this recipe with a kick of flavors that I normally cook with. So I merged a couple of my own recipes and styling with the one above to make the “Best Ever Juicy Burger” Latino Flavors Remix for the family.

I always eat my burgers with real mayonnaise as a topping for my burger, but never thought to mix it directly inside. So naturally, I was extremely curious to see how I could make this recipe work Latino style. I can’t believe I never thought to base the same idea on burgers before with real mayonnaise instead. Guess what I’ll be trying in my next meatloaf?

Prep Time: 15 min
Cook Time: 15 min
1/2 cup Hellmann’s® Real Mayonnaise
1/2 cup Italian flavored dry bread crumbs
2 packets of sazon con achiote
2 tablesspoons of adobo complete seasoning
2 tablespoons of sofrito
2 cups of potato stix
2 cups of shredded Colby & Monterey Jack cheese
2 lbs. ground beef
8 potato hamburger buns

COMBINE Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise, bread crumbs, sazon, sofrito and ground beef in bowl.

MIX and massage the Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise and dry ingredients into the ground beef; shape into 16 patties.

PREPARE 8 patties across a clean and dry surface or on a plate, leaving the other 8 on the side for the moment. Place a tablespoon of shredded cheese in the middle of each patty. Top the cheese laden patties with the 8 patties you put to the side. Roll into a big ball and slight press down until shaped.

GRILL or broil until done.

Place patties on a bun and top with your favorite toppings. One of our favorites is shoestring potatoes! Shoestring potatoes are something you find on every Pan Con Bistec (Steak Sandwich) in Miami, so it works perfectly on a burger and the only way we eat ours.

Caution: Once cooked, the melted cheese will be hot in the center.

Papa was impressed, but he’s always happy when he is served a plate of my food. The real challenge would be J-bird, my toughest critic. I am happy to report that the boy put down 3 burgers in one sitting. Seems my burger passed the Best Ever Juicy Burger test. Using Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise really did keep the burger moist through the cooking process.

  • I love Hellman’s mayonaise as well and have never tried to add it to the burger before cooking! I think it is great that you chose to prepare the burger in such a way, and that you shared this great idea! I guess I have a new way to consider making burgers that won’t taste like pucks!

  • wow!! mind-blowing recipe…i love the ingredients in these burgers. Being a latina cook i ALWAYS have sofrito, adobo and sazon in my kitchen and NEVER thought to use them to make hamburgers. also, i have just recently learned of the benefits of putting mayo in the meat to keep them from drying out. thank you so much for this recipe ( i already pinned it 🙂
