Over coffee with a friend the conversation of college came up. Our girls are the same ages, 3 and 5, and she was wondering about saving for their education for the future. I told her that we had already started college savings for my girls. One has a regular savings account, the other a 529 plan. We plan to convert the regular savings account into either a Prepaid Plan or another 529. Giving her a quick run down of both types of plans, I got the sense that the Prepaid Plan was right up her alley. She wanted to ensure her money, and daughters future wasn’t at risk. You can toss you worries out the window. Need a guarantee? The State of Florida does just that with Florida Prepaid Plans. It’s time to start worrying less so you can save more with a Florida Prepaid Plan.

Florida Prepaid Plan Myths BUSTED

Don't know if the Florida Prepaid plan is right for you? I'm debunking 3 myths so you can worry less and save more with a Florida Prepaid Plan!

Myth #1

If my kid decides to go to school out-of-state I lose my money.

Fact: Florida Prepaid isn’t restricted to Florida schools; the amount covered by your Prepaid Plan can be used at schools nationwide.

Myth #2

If we move out-of-state school will cost more to attend in Florida as an out-of-state student.

Fact: If you move out of Florida after purchasing a Prepaid Plan, your child would still be billed at in-state tuition rates when using their plan at a Florida college or state university.

Myth #3

If my child decides college isn’t their thing I’m out everything I’ve invested into their future.

Fact: If your child doesn’t go to college, you can change the beneficiary or get your money back.

Florida Prepaid College Plans allow you to prepay the future cost of college. When your child is ready for college, the plan pays the tuition, tuition differential fee and other specified fees covered under the plan.
