The first thing out of Papa’s mouth was “oh cool it’s a retro scale!” Not really, it just looks the part. It’s actually a digital scale. The illuminated dial on the scale will point to your weight in lbs and kg. The results are easy to read in any kind of lighting, even low lit bathrooms. The large mechanical dial display backlit in a pretty blue color, as it the LCD. The face of the dial measures in at 5.5 inch so you won’t need your reading glasses to see the weight.
The LCD and dial continue to display your weight for about 10 seconds once you step off the scale so you can read it accurately. I have heard from doctors that you should always weigh yourself at the same time of day since your weight can fluctuate throughout the day. The neatest feature is probably the built-in alarm which will remind you daily at the same time to weigh yourself. No more slip ups because now you can hold yourself accountable with a daily weigh in to track your progress.
Papa really likes the chrome accent around the dial which is what lends to its retro look that he pointed out right away. A true professional quality scale it is sure to last for ages. Considering we recently had a shelf come crashing down in the bathroom and all of its contents hit the floor, the impact-resistant tempered glass on this scale is a real advantage in this zoo of a house.
This scale should NOT be kept in any bathroom or other area that humid or can get steamed up, as per the instructions. Please keep this in mind when choosing a location that is not properly ventilated. After weighing myself several times I noticed that the dial and digital readings did not match up. There is a difference of +/- 3lbs with the digital reading showing less. Papa had more accurate readings. I will be sticking with the digital reading!
