Growing up watching Strawberry Shortcake and playing with toys from the collection is a fond memory for me. I recall the small plastic toys being fruit scented to replicate the namesake. Being able to share these sweet characters with my own little girls brings me back to my childhood. I always get excited when a product line like Strawberry Shortcake is revived for the new generation of children. During our trip to Disney last month I picked up a Strawberry Shortcake DVD at the store for the girls to watch on the drive up. I am not sure what I have been more excited about, getting to watch Strawberry Shortcake again, or watching my girls discover and fall in love with a character I grew up with.
Just released this month was a new DVD, Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Best In Show. Accompanying the DVD is a Digital download of the episodes which is great for watching them on the go. Strawberry has always been a cheerful and helpful playmate. In Berry Best In Show the theme is furry friends and contains three episodes: Partners in Crime, A Boy and His Dogs, and The Mystery of the Disappearing Dog Show. Huckleberry Pie, one of the leading characters and a boy, is trying to find his orphan puppies new homes when he gets stranded in Berry Bitty City.
“Partners in Crime” they are, but in a friendly way when Blueberry Muffin and Huck try to write a mystery story together. The results are most definitely a surprise you wouldn’t have imagined.
“A Boy and His Dogs” gets some much-needed help from Strawberry and her pals. They help out Huck with his puppies in a loving and delightful way.
“The Mystery of the Disappearing Dog Show” is a real mystery to everyone. The berry pals want to help Huck start a dog shelter, but will the fur start to fly?
Each episode in Berry Best In Show contains messages about friendship, respect, and just being yourself! Explore different lands and learn about the berry pals love of reading and animals. A great way to introduce your little ones to furry animals and show them how friendly they can be.
