Little Pim: Fun with Languages DVD’s Review

I recently purchased some Little Pim Fun With Languages DVD’s for my baby girl. She’s only 4 1/2 months old but its never to early to start, in fact it is proven that the earlier a child is introduced to a foreign language the easier it is to learn. We purchased the following:

Little Pim is offering 25% off to those who use my referral link here: Little Pim Fun with Languages Dvd’s

Vol 1-3 Spanish

Vol 4-6 Spanish

Vol 1-3 Russian

Vol 1 English/ESL

I chose Russian because I speak it, Spanish because my husband speaks its, and English just to get a head start. Not only is Baby Em’s enjoying the dvd’s but so is my husband who is very interested in learning Russian. I watch the Spanish dvd’s with her so that I can learn as she learns. Even our teenage son, 15, who only understands Russian and Spanish, but doesn’t speak either of the languages, is joining in on our sessions. Although I learned to speak Russian as my first language, it is not my native language as I was born here. There are so many things I am learning such as Yogurt is Yogurt and not Kefir (the drinkable version) as I thought. I also never knew how to say chopsticks in Russian (nor would I have ever thought they are called Palachki (which essentially means sticks), so I am definitely benefiting from these language Dvd’s a well!

Little Pim offers DVD’s, Gift Sets, Flashcards, Apps, Cd’s and Books. You can purchase individual dvd’s (to try it out) or sets. They also have a link on their site where you can “sample/try out” the dvd’s.

Little Pim is recommended for ages birth to 6 years old. They have a great selection of languages: Spanish, Chinese, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Arabic, Hebrew, Russian and English.

Little Pim has a cute Panda mascot that will keep your child entertained all while learning!

From their website regarding the benefits of learning a second language:

Language Development in Young Children

The most current scientific research has proven that babies, toddlers and preschoolers are uniquely equipped to learn one or more languages with ease.

Research also proves that young children who learn a language before the age of five tend to have superior reading, writing, analytical and social skills, as well as more extensive vocabularies than their monolingual peers. Early foreign language acquisition is no longer considered a luxury. It materially contributes to a young child’s cognitive development and also gives him an advantage in the future of our increasingly global marketplace.

Little Pim is the most comprehensive series available today for introducing a foreign language to young children between the ages of zero and five. The series has won 22 awards, including iParenting, Mom’s Best, Creative Child and Mr. Dad.

Disclaimer: I was not compensated in any way for my review. I chose to write this review because I enjoyed the product that I purchased. It is not recommended to allow children more than 30 minutes of TV time. As such, I leave the dvd playing in the background while we do other activities.
