Wherever you decide to allow your kiddos to play with the doll I recommend placing a towel down if she has an “accident”. Once we got all the contents out of the box and filled the baby bottle with water, Em go to work on feeding her “baby”. First I guided her as she swapped out the everyday diaper for one of the magic surprise diapers. Em fed her baby, and the floor (glad the towel was there), with water from the bottle. Peanut Big Top can only hold about a half teaspoon at a time.
I pointed out the belly “button” on the baby and Em pressed it so that Peanut could pee. We checked her diaper and noticed that the charm was only half exposed. Em fed Peanut again and then repeated the process of helping her pee. Em removed the baby’s diaper and we were able to see almost all of the charm. I ran the diaper under some water to remove the remaining layer and cleaned the charm.
Em excitedly hung the charm on her new charm bracelet. She continued to feed her baby and cuddle with her. Em really enjoyed having her own baby to take care of. She tries it often with Preemie but I still get nervous, so this is great practice. Em took Peanut to sleep with her and tucked her under the blanket. We read our nightly bedtime story and everyone went to sleep.
Next week Em is taking Peanut to school for show and tell. The kids will surely have a blast practicing on a realistic baby and learning about cause and effect. While I am not usually a big fan of dolls, the Lalaloopsy Babies Diaper Surprise doll isn’t any ordinary doll. It teaches life skills to young ones teaching them about feeding, changing, love and nurture. And most importantly, love has its rewards, these rewards just happen to come out of a wet diaper in the form of a charm.
The Lalaloopsy Babies Diaper Surprise comes with the following contents:
- 1 Lalaloopsy Babies Diaper Surprise Doll
- 1 Hat
- 1 Bib
- 3 Magic Surprise Diapers (each with 1 surprise charm)
- 1 Everyday Diaper
- 1 Charm Bracelet with Charm
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Spoon
There are two variations of the Lalaloopsy Babies Diaper Surprise doll. You can purchase either Peanut Big Top or Blossom Flowerpot doll, each doll comes with her own personality and individual looks.
When I shop for my children I try to focus on buying a toy or doll that will encourage the engagement of myself or my husband. Because at the end of the day it’s not the toys that matter as much as the time spent with the ones we love.
This holiday season you can get started early on researching which toys will be best for you and your little ones at Walmart. With an extensive selection of toys and dolls, you will be sure to find the perfect one to bring you and your little ones just a little closer.
Walmart Toyland events are happening throughout November and December at a local Walmart near you. . To find one near you be sure to check the list of participating stores and the dates! I’ll be attending an in store event on Saturday, November 15, 2014 and I’d love it if you did too. If you can’t make it to any of the events, be sure to take a photo with your favorite toy today and share it with the hashtag #chosenbykids!
