Instant Pot Orange Chicken Recipe Directions
Cut 2 lbs of chicken into 1-2 inch chunks
Place chicken on a plate covered with a paper towel to remove moisture
Once chicken is dry add the chunks into a large ziploc bag
Add beaten egg and thoroughly coat chicken with the egg
Add flour to bag and seal, shake to combine and set aside
Heat Instant Pot using the Sauté option. Once hot, add oil to the Instant Pot.
Once oil begins to bubble, add chicken and sauté for 4-5 minutes, stirring a few times
Cook until slightly golden, remove and set aside
De-glaze the Instant pot with 1/4 cup orange juice, using a spatula to scrape the pot
Place chicken back into the Instant Pot and add 3/4 cups of orange juice, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, granulated sugar, brown sugar, orange marmalade, and rice wine
Stir gently until all the ingredients are combined and coated in sauce
Close lid, select manual setting, and set the clock to 5 minutes on high pressure – making sure the vent is closed
Using the 10 minute natural release, turn off the heat. Release the remaining pressure by opening the vent and select the sauté function on low
In a small bowl add cornstarch and orange juice, whisk until combined with no visible lumps and add the mixture to the Instant Pot, stirring to combine
Cook on sauté setting for a few more minutes, stirring gently, until the sauce thickens
Turn the Instant Pot off and allow to sit for another 4-5 minutes
Serve over white rice, garnishing with green onions, orange zest and sesame seeds
