Ok, so this post is a little late, like 2 weeks late, but with good reason. Two weekends ago we celebrated Emily’s 1st Birthday with a big party. Elmo even stopped by to play and sing Happy Birthday to Emily. My little princess was in love!
Last weekend the celebration continued as we took a quick 5 days/4 night vacation to Disney. While I know many people sit on opposite sides of the fence when it comes to taking small children to Disney before they can remember the experience, this was something I though best suited our situation and that she would enjoy.
And enjoy she did! We stayed at the Nickelodeon Hotel (that will be a separate blog), and enjoyed a character breakfast. Emily was able to meet, dance and take pictures with Spongebob, Sandy, Mr. Crabs, Patrick and Squidward. We also bumped into Dora during our last day as we walked through the on site mall.
We took Emily to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. She had a great time enjoying some of the smaller kiddie rides and carousels. We got to meet various Disney Characters like Mickey Mouse, The Incredibles and Wreck It Ralph. We saw some shows like Disney Jr. Live. They were celebrating Minnie Mouse’s birthday which was really cool. We went later in the day after her nap so she was well rested and ready to go. Luckily we went the week before spring break (this week) and avoided the masses. I can positively say she had a fabulous time! The memories created with the pictures taken will last forever.
Again, I am very happy with the decision we made to take her to Disney at only 1-year-old. I even started a pin lanyard just for her! For those of you that aren’t familiar with pin lanyard’s, every Disney employee wears and trades specially made pins with guests. I was able to collect/trade for a bunch of Minnie Mouse and various Princess pins. Pin trading is a Disney tradition of ours and will continue with her for many years to come.
Happy Birthday my precious baby girl!
Love forever and a day,
