Raising three children is no small task. You would think that the experience you gain with each child would help with the next. And it does for the most part. But even as a mama with 20 years (29 if you count my niece) of child raising under my belt, I still wish they came with instruction manuals. With so much time between my first and second – 15 years, I was starting all over again and felt lost at times. We’ve switched pediatricians once already since our third, and have contemplated doing it again. I’ve heard of Pediatrics Associates before but felt like I needed a private practice. What I failed to realize was all the benefits that a group practice can offer – like the free parenting classes at Pediatric Associates.
Free Parenting Classes at Pediatric Associates
CPR and First Aid classes were offered at the hospital where I delivered, but somehow never made it to them. We all know how important it is to know these things. So it’s always been on the back of my mind. I decided to take a peek at the local at Pediatric Associates in the area to see what’s being offered. CPR and First Aid was the first one that popped up!
Here’s a few I’d be registering for as a new (or new again) mama:
CPR and First Aid Class – You never know when this will come in handy. Learn the basic skills you’ll need to respond to an infant/child in an emergency. Would you know what to do in the event of a choking emergency or how to respond to a breathing and cardiac emergency? This is a must for all parents or caregivers – so sign up family members and babysitters too!
New Parent Class – THIS! New or old, every Mama and Papa that have just had a new baby should take a class like this. In fact, maybe they should call it New Baby Class instead? Get all the tips you need to prepare for baby’s arrival. Information will include early development & newborn behaviors, how to care for your infant, breastfeeding, how to change diapers (it can be more challenging than you think) and much more.
Car Seat Safety Class – There is nothing easy about installing a car seat and knowing how to use it, properly. Even veterans make mistakes. Did you know that you should never strap a child in with bulky layers/blankets? Even figuring out which type of car seat you should be using can make your head spin. You’ll want to bring your car seat, child and vehicle if possible to this class.
Breastfeeding Class – This free parenting class would have saved me a ton of money. We had a tough time getting Em to latch – going as far as having a lactation consultant come to our home. Turns out all I really needed was a $6 nipple shield. If you are planning to breastfeed or need support, this is where you’ll find it. From initiation positions to milk production to proper storage and handling, you’ll receive guidance without the expense of a lactation consultant – you’re welcome!
All the classes are free, is available 24/7/365, has been in business for over 60 years with over 30 offices across South Florida, Tampa and Jacksonville. It’s no surprise that Pediatric Associates is known for their famous slogan “We’re here when you need us!”

I think this is something all mommies could use. We are not given a manuel on this. Thank you so much for sharing. God Bless
