One of my favorite salads is the Caprese Salad. Quick and easy to make, these Caprese Salad Towers are the perfect treat for a light meal or as a great party platter. Buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes are your main ingredients for the Caprese Salad and can be found in most local grocery stores. Not only an adult favorite, but kids will love building these towers too. I really enjoy preparing foods that allow for the kids to help out. They take pride in their work, and love to be a part of the action in the kitchen.
Caprese Salad Tower Ingredients:
The Caprese Salad is great dish at any time of the day, it’s light and refreshing. You can prepare the towers the night before, just be sure to cover the dish properly. Giving it extra time to sit will allow the tomatoes and cheese to absorb the flavors of the evoo and balsamic glaze for an enhanced flavor. Go ahead, play with your food, Mama says it’s okay. - Buffalo Mozzarella
- Tomatoes
- Salt
- Italian seasoning
- Extra Virgin Olive oil
- Balsamic glaze
- Basil leaves (chopped)
- Using a slicing knife, slice the buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes into 1/4 inch slices.
- Season each mozzarella and tomato slice for your Caprese Salad individually with the salt and Italian seasoning.
- Starting with one slice of tomato, followed by a slice of cheese, arrange your tower on a platter two tiers high.
- Drizzle with Extra Virgin Olive Oil and finish off with a drizzle of balsamic glaze.
- Allow to chill in the fridge for about 15 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with chopped basil leaves.
- You will want to use double flat sided pieces of the buffalo mozzarella for the first tier, saving rounded pieces for the top for balance.

If you love tomatoes, look up a product called Killer Tomato Seasoning. My husband swears by it. We discovered during the Creole Tomato Festival in New Orleans a few years back.
