Pictopia™ Star Wars Edition Family Trivia Game available exclusively at Target for $24.99
For the ultimate Star Wars fan comes Pictopia! 1000 questions of picture-trivia will test your knowledge of Star Wars. I didn’t even get to look over this game because J-bird was in town for the weekend and pretty much snatched it up to bring back to college with him. Which of course I didn’t mind, especially considering that I enjoy seeing him take family traditions and expand on them, embrace them, and continue them, even while away at college. This game was perfect for J-bird and his suite mates as it allows for 2-6 players, and is recommended for ages 7 and up. How much do you know about the iconic planets, ships, villains and heroes from a galaxy far, far away? Are you a Padawan or Jedi Master, the Star Wars Pictopia trivia game will be the true test! The Pictopia Star Wars Edition Family Trivia game promotes strategic thinking, cooperation and teamwork making it perfect for your next family game night!

Did you get a chance to see The Peanuts Movie which was out in theatres recently? We missed it (insert sad face here), so I am still trying to find a theatre that is playing it so that we don’t have to wait for the DVD. In the meantime we kicked it into high gear with the world’s most beloved beagle. Aren’t beagles the cutest??? Snoopy is off on a high-flying adventure as the Flying Ace in hot pursuit of the Red Baron. Help Snoopy put a stop to the Red Baron by flipping cards and racing to make matches before Snoopy comes in for a landing. This game is recommended for ages 4 and up but can be played with children younger and promotes fun with matching colors!

Eye Found It! Journey Through Time Hidden Picture Game available at Target for $19.99
Although the recommended ages for this fascinating jumbo game board is only 4 and up, I think that children slightly older – 6 and up, would really enjoy this game and all that it entails. Eye Found It! promotes cooperation, teamwork, attention to detail, observation skills, and reinforces object identification as well as matching skills. Find hidden objects as you solve the world’s greatest mysteries from the Prehistoric Era to the Present Day. Can you make it all the way to the end of the giant 6-foot game board before your Timecraft runs out of fuel?
Apple Pop Game available at Amazon on sale for $8.48 (retails for $16.99)
I saved the best for last…because the girls had the most fun with the Apple Pop Game! There were shrieks and screams of delight as they moved the apples around the tree and tried to pop the apples out and into the baskets below. I loved that this game is self-contained and plays right in the box – eliminating the possibility of losing game pieces, which happens around here more often than I’d like to admit. This game is recommended for ages 4 and up and allows for 2 to 4 players – the girls had no problem getting the hang of this one once I explained it to them and showed them what they had to do. It promotes coloring matching – red, green and yellow, as well as encourages dexterity and coordination! Definitely a favorite in my eyes too for family game night.
Have you played any of these games, or variations of them on your family game night? Which would you chose for your next family game night?
