Flowers are blooming, and spring has sprung in Homestead as preparations begin for the annual Homestead Easter Egg Hunt. The event will be an evening of Easter activities, food trucks, and an ongoing Egg Hunt with several rounds on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 6 PM. The free Hoppin’ Into Springs Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, April 1 from 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Sportsplex Park (2800 Sportsplex Dr.) During the event, candy-filled, colorful, plastic eggs will be scattered across an open field where children can run to collect as many eggs as possible. All child participants will receive bunny shaped shade glasses and free Italian Ice. This family-friendly event will also include a DJ, arts and crafts, bounce house and a Bunny visit.

A Sensory Tent will also be on-site with experienced staff available. The sensory tent will provide a lower lighting calming atmosphere through a variety of sensory products like fidget tubes, tactile books, stress balls and more. It will also provide comfortable seating areas and a foam crash pad featuring a weighted blanket and pillow for deep pressure stimulation. Egg hunts will be divided into 4 age groups. Please remember to bring your own basket or bag to collect eggs. Egg hunt starts promptly at 10am.
