Did you ever wish you had your very own personal fairy godmother? Growing up, I know I did. Who wouldn’t want a little magic at their disposal, am I right? Disney’s Godmothered is here and ready to make all your childhood fantasies come true, even if you’ve all but given up believing in magic and fairy godmothers.

Set at Christmas time, GODMOTHERED is a comedy about Eleanor, a young, inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training (Jillian Bell) who upon hearing that her chosen profession is facing extinction, decides to show the world that people still need fairy godmothers. Finding a mislaid letter from a 10-year-old girl in distress, Eleanor tracks her down and discovers that the girl, Mackenzie, is now a 40-year-old single mom (Isla Fisher) working at a news station in Boston. Having lost her husband several years earlier, Mackenzie has all but given up on the idea of “Happily Ever After,” but Eleanor is bound and determined to give Mackenzie a happiness makeover, whether she likes it or not. I’m a HUGE fan of Isla Fisher and have been following her since at least 2002 when she starred in Scooby-Doo. She’s always seemed like a funny and kind person, even in RL. The best of her shines in Godmothered, as she transitions from not believing in fairy tales and godmothers to creating her own definition of what a happy ending actually means.
The girls really enjoyed the magic of it, especially the oopsie spells, and beautiful dresses – Em loves any excuse to dress up in a “ball gown,” even if its just to go for a walk around the block. Godmothered beautifully ties in real city life, with woodland creatures and magical elements of all kinds.
Godmothered caters to all ages, from young to old and in between. Eleanor and Mackenzie are the perfect odd couple. You’ll find moments of laughter, and tears, and you will most definitely find yourself rooting for the underdog – the Godmother that can’t seem to get anything right – and brings you back to believing in magic.

Godmothered stars Isla Fisher, Jillian Bell, Santiago Cabrera, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Jane Curtin, June Squibb, Jillian Shea Spaeder, Willa Skye, Artemis Pebdani, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Stephnie Weir.
