Since my move to Miami from New York City 10 years ago I’ve done quite a bit of traveling all around Florida, from the North to the South to the West and of course all up and down the East coast. We’ve been to Tampa and visited Busch Gardens and Adventure Island, to Orlando for various attractions, including Sea World and Aquatica. It’s easy to say we’ve visited all the exciting and amazing attractions all over Florida. We’ve vacationed on all the wonderful beaches all over Florida. I thought we had covered them all…but apparently we had missed Orlando’s Hidden Treasure – Discovery Cove. If you’ve never heard of it before, it’s totally okay – neither had I!!! Which is exactly why I’m sharing with you to plan your next vacation to Discovery Cove, and here are 5 reasons to discover Orlando’s hidden treasure!
5 Reasons to Discover Orlando’s Hidden Treasure – Discovery Cove
All-inclusive Park
Discovery Cove is an all-inclusive park and Orlando’s hidden treasure! This means you pay one admission price and everything you need is included. From towels to life jackets, wet suits, and sand toys, they’ve got you covered. And of course the most important thing of all – you’ll have access to freshly prepared breakfast and lunch plus unlimited snacks and drinks – even alcoholics beverages for the adults, are all included! Parking, lockers, sunscreen and changing facilities are also included in the price of admission.
Swim with Dolphins
When you purchase your admission ticket you can select an upgraded ticket which includes swimming with dolphins! What an incredible and amazing once in a lifetime experience this is, especially for children, ages 6 and up. You get a one on one 30-minute interactive adventure with a bottlenose dolphin. You’ll have a chance to become acquainted with your dolphin through hugs, kisses and rubdowns. And then the real fun begins as you hang on to the dorsal fin for a tow ride back to shore!
Snorkel through a saltwater reef
Grab a life jacket or wet suit and snorkeling gear and then head on over to the Grand Reef. You’ll be able to swim and explore the reef, swim with thousands of beautiful fish and even stingrays! Swim up alongside the safety glass to get a peek at the sharp-toothed reef shark.
Relax all day
Just lay back and relax on one of the many pristine white-sand beaches. Soak up the sun, read a book and enjoy the peacefulness of the sand and water around you. Grab a float and unwind on the Wind-Away River. Don’t forget to stop and take a picture with one of the waterfalls!
Check out SeaWorld and Aquatica for FREE!
As part of your admission to Discovery Cove you will receive unlimited admission to SeaWorld® and Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark™ in Orlando for 14 consecutive days around the date of your reservation.
If these 5 reasons to discover Orlando’s hidden treasure – Discovery Cove aren’t convincing enough, then you’ll also want to check out their aviary of tropical birds, resort-style pool complete with waterfalls or grab a private cabana – available for rent at an additional charge. Additional upgrades available are an underwater walking reef tour or become a dolphin trainer for a day! For just $25 add access to Busch Gardens for your upcoming trip.
So what are you waiting for? Your day of discovery begins here. Learn more about how SeaWorld is helping to conserve coral reefs, which are facing growing threats, through their Rising Tide Conservation at SeaWorldCares.com/RisingTide which promotes efforts to breed and raise marine tropical fish in aquaculture facilities rather than collecting them in the wild.
You can help by taking part in activities like Discovery Cove’s SeaVenture program – guests who participate in the SeaVenture program at Discovery Cove also directly help support Rising Tide Conservation, as the park donates five percent of every program purchased.

are killer whales in with the dolphins you look scared
Nope, no killer whales swimming with the dolphins. I’m as calm and relaxed as can be!
This sounds like so much fun. My grandchildren would love this. We have lived in Florida for quite some time and we have never been there. I will be checking this out. Thank you so much for sharing
I would love to go here with my future children. Another amazing attraction in Orlando.
My wife and I went there when we used to live in Florida. Great memories.
