I take tons of pictures. Tons. Pictures of my kids, pictures of my friends, pictures of places I go and things I do. I love documenting my life. But lately I’ve fallen into a pretty bad habit. All those pictures? They never get much farther than my smartphone. While the pictures my mom took of me as a kid are all printed and preserved in albums, the pictures of my kids are all tucked away in my smart device…leaving me scrambling and scrolling when I want to show someone pictures of my child’s dance recital costume, the parade we walked in last month, or our trip to Disney. It’s not that I don’t want to print my pictures out, it’s just that it takes time, and as a busy mom I don’t have a lot of extra time. So I partnered with to see if their newest app could do what I haven’t had time to do, create photo books with FavePix in 5 minutes of less!

5 minutes. I can’t even find my wallet in 5 minutes so how was I to create a photo book in that amount of time? FavePix by Shutterfly says it only takes 5 minutes to make a beautiful album out of all those pictures trapped in your phone. And yes, you read that right, 5 minutes. All you have to do is download the FavePix app, log in to Instagram through the app, and select between 18 and 50 pictures. No time to select pictures? No problem! FavePix can gather pictures for you using specific hashtags or your most “liked” photos.

When you’re done, simply chose a design for your first page and front cover, upload the photos, and checkout.

When I read that I could create photo books with FavePix in 5 minutes or less I was a bit of a skeptic. Clearly, they didn’t know how many pictures I had pent-up in my smart device and ready to be set free. They also didn’t know what a perfectionist I am when it comes to preserving my memories. But I’ll admit, creating a FavePix photo book is every bit as easy as they say and it’s even easier to love the book when it arrives. My entire transaction took about 12 minutes, from searching for the app to checking out, and at least 5 minutes of that was me walking through my house looking for my credit card. I also chose to hand-pick my images for the book instead of having them select images for me, which probably took a little more time – but I’m glad I did it. This book very easily could have come together in 5 minutes or less if you let the app select your pictures and don’t need to spend 5 or more minutes wandering around your house trying to figure out where you left your wallet. Best of all, the FavePix photo book is absolutely gorgeous!

Complete with thick pages, dates, locations, and captions, the 6×6 FavePix book can definitely compliment the other Shutterfly books I’ve created. In fact, it might be better because it comes together easier than those bigger books.

All my photos are in chronological order with the last page giving me a breakdown of all my likes, comments, and locations. It’s pretty cool.

It’s the perfect gift for grandma’s coffee table, dad’s desk, or for someone like my mom, who doesn’t have her own social media accounts, but wants to see all the pictures that I post on social media. Or maybe you just want to keep it for yourself…don’t worry, that’s okay too. That happens to be exactly what I’m doing with my FavePix photo book. I can’t stand the idea of parting with it!
