Can you believe Fall is already upon us? No better reason to celebrate Autumn than Pumpkin Season! J-bird loves Pumpkin Pie.

He suddenly discovered it a few years ago and now EVERY Thanksgiving he specifically requests pumpkin pie for dessert. This Thanksgiving we will be celebrating a twofer with his visit from college and his 18th Birthday!!! And I’d like to try to make a homemade pumpkin pie, but first, I need PUMPKINS! So I’m heading to the Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival to pick my very own pumpkins for his special treat.

Finding events around town that the entire family can take part in seems to come few and far between. When I do find them I try to take the most advantage possible. The girls love going on outings and exploring new adventures. Last year I wasn’t able to take Em due to my hospital stay with Preemie. So this year I owe it Em and J-bird, it’s going to be a family affair!

For the third year in a row, South Florida families will get to experience the excitement around the change of seasons at the Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival taking place October 4 & 5 at Peacock Park! Join your neighbors and kick-off Fall the first weekend of October at this one-of-a kind family festival set along picturesque Biscayne Bay from 10am-6pm both days.

Just like in years past, the festival will feature a variety of fun activities for the family, including a true pumpkin patch with 5,000 pumpkins to pick from! This year, included in the entrance fee ($10 for Adults & $15 for Kids 2-12, Babies under 24 months are FREE!) are unlimited kids carnival rides, the kids hay maze, a dress-your-own scarecrow village, corn-stalk maze, hay ride, and on-going shows & activities on our main stage!

Adults will also be thrilled with all the activities planned, including the opportunity to decorate your pumpkins right on-site, as well as the Pumpkin Food Court offering savory & sweet pumpkin delights (and delicious fair food, too)! There is even an adult Pumpkin Beer Garden for those that need to cool down!
