Dance With The Animals
As I may have mentioned a gazillion times before, no really it must be a gazillion by now, Em loves to dance. Remember how I told you they nicknamed her the ‘Dreidel’ at school. Music or no music Em is always dancing. My computer beeps and it’s like a start button for her. I enjoy it when she starts grooving because she always has a smile on her face from ear to ear.
Rock ‘N Learn makes learning fun. Kids love music and they love to rock out making this educational musical DVD an excellent catch. With so many catchy tunes this DVD sure makes learning fun and don’t be surprised when you find yourself singing along with your tot.
There are tons of animals on Dance with the Animals, lots of real ones not just animated ones, in this fun DVD. Go on a journey with Katie the Cat and her friends while they explore animals. Your child will learn about where animals live, the kind of sounds they make, the responsibility of having a pet and much more.
There is such an assortment of animals, ones that the kids will recognize as well as new ones to learn about. There are over 60 fantastic creatures featured in the DVD along with fun facts about them. The DVD fosters learning through creative movement, using motor skills as well as listening and following directions.
Dance with the Animals is geared towards children 2 & up and runs for approximately 45 minutes. Since I prefer not to have Em watch TV for longer than 30 minutes per day, we watched/danced to it over 2 days. She had such a blast making the sounds of all the different animals. Her favorite was the cow, Moooooo. She even surprised me when she recognized a few of the animals I was sure she wasn’t yet familiar with. Em mimicked the movements the animals made throughout. Even puckering like a fish.
She loved the Learn about Pets chapter the most. They featured dogs, cats, parrots, fish, turtles, hamsters and more. They even explained the difference between an aquarium and a terrarium (I learned a new word!). Farm Animals was another big hit with cows, turkeys and donkeys too.
The DVD plays 12 different chapter listed below:
1. Animals, Animals
2. Learn About Pets
3. Pet Care
4. Pet Sound Game
5. Pet Parade
6. Farm Animals
7. Barnyard Dance
8. Forest Animals
9. Forest Homes
10. Forest Frolic
11. Zoo Animals
12. Safari Line
With additional bonus material called Make the Sounds of Farm Animals and Where are the Farm Animals
Overall Em had a fabulous time learning about animals while she danced and tried to sing along. We traveled from home, to farm to the forest and even the zoo all from the comfort and safety of our living room. We spent quality time together dancing, singing and laughing.

Be sure to stop by and check out the entire line of Rock N Learn educational DVD’s for all ages. Em gives Dance with the Animals a high-five. I always give her a high-five for a job well done, so it’s just natural she would do the same. It was so much fun that I can’t wait for Preemie to get older so she can enjoy it too. I will not wait until she is 2 to play it though, because this can easily be played in the background just for the music and fun of dancing.
Are you a teacher or other professional? This DVD can be used without requesting permission for classroom instruction. I love a company that supports education. Rock N Learn is THAT company.
