Change A Light Bulb And Instantly Reveal Your Homes True Beauty

There are certain household items I don’t put much thought into when purchasing. Light bulbs are one of those things. I normally buy whatever bulbs I find are on sale and don’t give it a second thought. With the exception of size, like for ceiling fans versus hallway, they are all alike right? At least that’s what I used to think.
I have never viewed light bulbs as anything more than a way to see things when it’s dark out. I never noticed how dark or dull things looked around the house. At least not until I was able to try the GE reveal light bulbs.
The paint colors of the walls of my home were picked to make the house look light and soft. Little did I know that my bulbs were making it look dreary. Take a look at the pictures below. Notice how in the first picture my wall paint and ceiling paint look like it’s just one color? It’s not, it’s the cheap bulb I was using! Look at the second picture and you will notice the real difference. The wall was painted a soft yellow color and the ceiling a white color.

I almost didn’t believe my own eyes. The GE reveal bulb actually revealed the true distinction. I never realized how the cheap bulb threw off a yellow light that totally changed how my paint looked, for the better. How could I have been so blind?
I swapped another cheap bulb out over the counter of my kitchen with the GE reveal bulb (pictured below – click to enlarge). The ceiling, the bi-fold door and even the roses instantly looked brighter and prettier. I’ve seen the commercials where they show you the side by side comparison but never really paid attention nor realized just how yellow the light made everything look.

As a wife and mom to 3, I spend a lot of time in my kitchen. Unfortunately it doesn’t have any natural light so lighting in that room is extremely important. I have 5 recessed lights in the kitchen. Whenever a regular bulb would go out, the kitchen would immediately be submerged into darkness. The GE reveal light bulb, with its pure and clean white light, makes my kitchen shine.
I am now a believer. Proper lighting not only makes all the difference but also sets the right mood in the room. I can’t wait to replace all the regular bulbs in my house with the GE reveal light bulbs. Luckily the GE reveal light bulbs come in various sizes and types. They even have energy-efficient and vanity bulbs!
Cheap does not allows equal better or even good enough. When I look back on the amount of times we have had to change the “cheap” bulbs I could have easily invested in good quality bulbs. I will be looking into the reveal LED lights because they are expected to last a decade when used up to 3 hours per day. Can you imagine not having to change any bulbs in your home for 10 years? I am now seeing things in a new light and clearly too.
