Today’s post – 5 Ways to Break the Routine, is sponsored by NESCAFÉ® ClásicoTM, but my love for their Make the Moments Happen movement is all my own!
Minutes turn into hours, turn into days, turn into years and before we know it life is moving along so fast we forgot to make the moments happen that matter most. In the everyday grind and hustle and bustle of life we tend to forget to slow down, break the routine and do something new and different. So I’m inviting you to join me in taking a break from your usual to make the moments happen with NESCAFÉ® Clásico ™ through these 5 ways to break the routine – you never know what could happen!
You might recall the partnership between NESCAFÉ® Clásico ™ and Ricky Martin in the past. Because of their continued shared values of passion in life, family togetherness, and joyful Latin-American origins, NESCAFÉ® extended this partnership in 2016. Check out this fun video starring Ricky Martin – NESCAFÉ® Clásico ™ rewarded those who dared to break the routine by giving them the surprise of their life: meeting Ricky Martin!
5 Ways to Break the Routine!
– Invite your girlfriends over for an impromptu movie night on a week night
– Surprise a friend at her house with a gift basket which includes mugs and a jar of NESCAFÉ® Clásico ™
– Have dinner in the backyard with the family tonight followed by a Sobremesa
– Walk or bike to the store instead of driving and enjoy the fresh air
– Sweeten your coffee with some chocolate ice cream for a NESCAFÉ® Clásico ™ Mocha AFFOGATO aka Coffee Float
I took a break from routine this morning by adding some chocolate ice cream to my coffee and skipping on the cream and sugar. Served with a some madeleine cookies and you couldn’t wipe the smile off my face all morning if you tried.
Step 1: Prepare NESCAFÉ® Clásico ™ by adding two teaspoons of NESCAFÉ Clásico to 12oz of hot water
Step 2: For a Mocha Affogato add one scoop (or several – it’s your moment) of chocolate Häagen Dazs ice cream
Step 3: For more subtle chocolate flavor, use vanilla ice cream and one tablespoon of cocoa powder
It’s time to stop waiting for moments to happen, and start creating them! The right time is now, the perfect opportunity is the one you create, don’t wait for next time – the is it. No need to wait for birthdays for the next get together, make it happen. My girlfriends and I love to get together as often as possible – whether at someones house, the mall or for lunch on a random day. It’s these moments that make our friendship stronger, our hearts beat faster and our smiles grow wider.
How will you break the routine to make the moments happen in your life? Grab a friend and go dancing in the rain, then warm up inside with a NESCAFÉ® Clásico ™.

I have personally put some real odd things in coffee. It turned out amazing!
Do tell!!! I’ve only tried a scoop of cocoa before this.
This recipe sounds yummy!! Such fun ideas…..I really should invite all my friends over for a girls’ night.
I will have to try this recipe. You are so lucky to have met Ricky Martin!
The recipe is delish! I didn’t personally get to meet Ricky, that would be awesome. It was random people on the street that were offered this opportunity, simply for daring to break the routine!
This recipe looks so yummy–I’m going to have to try it soon!
I have never tried Nescafe before but I will soon. These suggestions sound great. So nice to sit down with some friends and enjoy the drink and the company. Thank you for sharing
I love recipes using coffee with chocolate or cocoa. I have used Nescafe before
Oh I have never tried Ice Cream in my Coffee before, but I WILL NOW! Thanks so much for the Post, and the Recipes! Ohh gotta try that.
I agree we need to stop and smell the roses so to speak. I am 53 now and it amazes me how fast time went by. I have wasted the last 14 years of my life working 6 days a week at the computer shop we owned. We just sold it and now I feel lost. Thanks for reminding me there are other important things in life beyond work. Nescafe sounds delicious. I also like the thought of adding ice cream to coffee instead of cream.
It is so true everything you said in this post. It is so important to not just sit around
and expect something to happen. Fate is a rare thing. Things happen because of the chances
we take every day.
Love the idea of inviting friends over for the movie-night during a weeknight! So much easier to organize during the week… people always have way too much to do on the weekend if you have kids! CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM IN COFFEE…. OMGosh!!!! Lightbulb moment for me!!! Thank you!!!!
The float looks great; I have not had one in ages.
It looks so delicious. I love Riki Martin too ,he’s a sweetheart. I am going to have to make some floats…Yum!
Love these delicious ideas! Also fun to have casual get-togethers for “no reason!” Don’t wait for an excuse…other than to enjoy a treat and each others company!
Walking is my favorite form of exercise, I would recommend it.
Nothing like a fun treat to cheer you up and brighten your day! All of this sounds SO delicious
I love to make ice cream floats with coffee, sometimes I add whipped cream with chocolate sprinkles or some salted caramel … just awesome!
These are some delicious ideas! I’ve never had a Mocha Affogato before, sounds so good!
