Are You Brushing Like The Dentist Told You? #Review

Disclosure: I received the following product for review purposes.

20140228-222455.jpgI really need to go to the orthodontist and get these braces off already. I have so been slacking! I had them put on in July of 2012. I was on schedule to have them removed December 2013. Yeah, I know, tomorrow is March already. How long can I get away with the “but I just had a baby” excuse?

I have tried to take good care of my teeth in the meantime because I don’t know what to expect when the braces come off. I am dreading the thought of having possible discoloration on my teeth. I generally use a manual tooth-brush. I’ve used electronic ones before but haven’t found one I like and get annoyed by the need to change batteries often.20140228-222515.jpg

The Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush with charging base by ToiletTree Products is different from any toothbrush I have ever used before. It comes with two toothbrush heads, each marked with a different colored ring. I claimed the white ring and Papa got the blue one. Included in the package is the charging base which is smaller than the palm of my hand and perfect for my small bathroom. As a bonus you even get a FREE electronic travel sonic toothbrush!

The electronic toothbrush has an ergonomical handle and waterproof design. The handle has an illuminated display which lets you know which mode you are in, Clean or Sensitive. I started in the clean mode but found it to be too much for me coming from a manual toothbrush. I switched to the sensitive mode effortlessly simply by pressing the power button. This was the perfect speed and pressure for me. Papa likes the strength behind the clean mode. The brush operates at 8,800 oscillations per minute. I didn’t count this, but can assure you it really moves. It is because of this that it will help to remove more plaque than a regular manual toothbrush. I imagine you can go between the two modes using the sensitive mode if you prefer a gentler brushing and then clean mode to tackle plaque during your two-minute brushing.20140228-222521.jpg

Swapping the toothbrush heads was as simple as a place and twist to lock or twist and remove. High quality DuPont Tynex bristles 20140228-222527.jpgand brush’s round shape are designed to ensure each tooth is surrounded for optimal cleaning. I liked the round shape for two reasons. I felt that it was big enough yet small enough to focus on the tooth I was brushing. It also lends itself to saving toothpaste because it fits the right “pea” sized amount of toothpaste, which is really all you need. Regular toothbrushes easily mislead you and I always end up putting on twice the amount of toothpaste needed, total waste.

I never know if I am brushing my teeth long enough which means the two-minute auto-timer guarantees I get the job done right. Every 30 seconds the brush stops for a fraction of a second and then completely shuts off at the two-minute mark. The toothbrush automatically enters the recharge mode as soon as it is placed on its base. It does not however recognize that it is on the base, there is no auto shutoff upon placement. However, remember since the toothbrush does shut off after two minutes it will turn off eventually.

Why do I bring this up since it shouldn’t be an issue? Well after the toothbrush had turned off I wanted to keep brushing to continue testing it out. I finished before the two minute shut off and placed it on the base. I never realized how quickly two minutes actually is. Having used a manual toothbrush for so long I feel like I have wasted my much-needed energy for no reason. Using an electric toothbrush has really opened my eyes to how much stuff would be left when using a manual brush. This was evidenced by using my WaterPik flosser after brushing. The difference was phenomenal.

The bonus travel toothbrush comes in a nice case that almost looks like a makeup product. I wish it had the same round shape as the full size brush. You will need to purchase or have 1 AAA battery (not included) to run it as an electric brush. The bristles are soft and the handle is convenient to hold. The heads between the full size and travel are not interchangeable.

The electric toothbrush set is available in two colors, white or black. The toothbrush is gentle on your teeth and on your gums all while helping to keep them healthy. It is also BPA-free and FDA approved.

You will love the product or you get your money back. ToiletTree is so confident in their product that they offer a 100% 365-day money back guarantee to all of their customers.
