6 Things You Must Have in Your Beach Bag

Great sunscreen

Sunscreen is very important when you’re at the beach and enjoying time in the sun. You need to protect your skin from sunburn, which can happen quickly, even on an overcast day.

Flip flops

You don’t want to trudge through the sand in your regular shoes or even sandals. You’ll end up tracking back all that sticky sandy right back to your car and house. Pack a small, thin pair of flip-flops in your beach bag to change into when you get back to your car.

Chap-stick or lip gloss

You will want to protect your lips from the sun, too. Pack a great chap stick or lip gloss with SPF protection in your beach bag and get one that clips onto a handle, this way you’ll never forget it. You’ll prevent your lips from getting dried out from the heat and sun.

A big beach towel

The bigger the better when it comes to beach towels. A great beach towel is a beach bag essential. A big beach towel can double as a place to lay on and for drying off after a dip in the ocean.

The perfect shade

A great pair of sunglasses, or a backup pair if you tend to wear sunglasses everywhere will ensure you always protect your vision and you don’t have to worry about not being able to see in the bright sun. Opting for a large brimmed hat will also help keep your head protected from the scorching sun.

Snacks

After swimming, making sand castles or enjoying a game of beach volleyball, you might get a little hungry. Okay, a lot hungry. Two things a day at the beach are known for is hungry and exhaustion. Until you can get home or to your favorite restaurant, your snacks will save the day. Be sure to pick things that won’t melt or spoil in the heat or sun. Also be sure to pack plenty of liquids so you stay hydrated.

With these simple tips, you’ll always be beach ready. Just keep your bag packed and any time your friends call or you feel the need to get away for some fun in the sun, you can just grab your bag and go with these 6 things you must have in your beach bag!

I should add caution to leaving sunscreen in the vehicle on a regular basis because of the extreme temperatures. I’ve done it before (not on purpose) and it loses its consistency.
