Easter is a fun holiday to celebrate with your children. There’s so much you can do on this holiday, from making tasty treats to creating fun Easter crafts. These different Easter crafts are just ideas and are an example of how fun Easter can be for you and your family.
Decorate an Easter Basket
This Easter, have some crafting fun by decorating an Easter basket. Easter crafts are a ton of fun. To do this, you’ll need a plain Easter basket. You can usually find a plain basket at the Dollar Store for $1. You and your kids can then show off your creative side decorating the basket! Have different art supplies available, including paint, markers, glitter, foam stickers, and more. The Easter bunny will be ready to visit as soon as your basket is complete!
Canvas Handprint Painting
Celebrate Easter this year with an adorable handprint bunny painting. To do this craft, you’ll need a canvas, paint, and a hand! Before creating the bunny, you’ll want to paint the background for your canvas. Your child can have fun with this part, either painting shapes or simply filling it in with “abstract” art. After the background dries, paint your child’s hand and four fingers with color you want to use for the bunny’s fur. This could be white, brown, and even pink or blue! Press your child’s hand onto the canvas where you want the bunny to be. You’ll then want to use pink or brown paint to fill in the inside of the bunny’s ears (your child’s fingers). Use black paint or a paint pen to draw on the bunny’s eyes, nose, mouth and whiskers.
Easter Egg Mosaic – Filled Felt
You can get crafty this Easter by making an Easter egg mosaic out of felt. To do this, you’ll want to find an Easter egg pattern to cut out using felt. Be sure to also cut out an egg-shaped using two pieces, one for the front and the other for the back piece. After you find a pattern, you can cut up different colors of foam into small pieces. Try to make all different shapes and sizes. You’ll then glue the felt pattern pieces onto the egg, using the different colors of felt pieces to make the pattern. Leaving the spaces in between empty, the color of the base egg felt shape will come through. Alternatively you can use white fabric paint to fill in those spaces. After all the pieces are dry, have an adult use a needle and thread to sew the two pieces together, filling the inside with cotton. The end result will be a beautiful piece of art! You could even use these eggs for an indoor or outdoor egg hunt!
