Miami Dade College’s historic Koubek Center, su casa de cultura, launched a bilingual family series not long ago and is ready to showcase their latest family event with Puerto Rican Culture: Plena Para Niños. Activities include music and dance performances and workshops by members of the esteemed folkloric group Plena Es, leading purveyors of the Afro-Puerto Rican bomba plena traditions. There will also be a storytime, craft-making, and traditional Puerto Rican cuisine available for purchase. My mouth is already watering for some arroz con gandules! This event is free and open to the public.
