MDC’s Koubek Center Bilingual Family Series
Playtime provides parents an engaging (and free) way for their children to learn and practice Spanish. The fun and interactive family days will highlight the diverse arts, crafts, literary histories, and music and dance of the city’s many Hispanic cultures. Children will be invited to sing, dance, create and speak together en español.
Fiesta Navideña features Latin Grammy-nominated Cuban producer, teacher, and voice coach Rita Rosa—renowned for her bilingual music programs—leading a sing-along called “Villancicos y Chocolate.” Other activities will include story time with Teatro Prometeo; ornament craft-making; an elf-led Santa letter writing station; and a toy drive benefiting the local charity Amigos for Kids. Food (tamales, churros con chocolate) and drinks will be available for purchase, as will valet parking.
