HIP-HIP HOORAY!!! Three cheers for Papa…and the family, our DIY Sandbox with Roof is finally complete. You’ve seen the in-process photos during our building phase, and now we get to show you the official DIY Sandbox with Roof Reveal! But first a few more photos as we finished installing the seating, landscaping fabric, some accent painting and the largest sand pour in our backyard history.

In goes the landscaping fabric to keep the sand from escaping while allowing for drainage.
Night fall is approaching but the show must go on. The seats are in place thanks to the built-in light on the Bosch Drill! Seriously though, the 18V 2-Tool Kit w/ Compact Tough™ Drill Driver really put this project together – we couldn’t have done it without it!
The sandbox is ready for filling – after we vacuum all those leaves and grass out.
Buildings have concrete pours, our sandbox had a major sand pour.
In total we used 13 – 50lb bags of play safe sand.
Yay! It’s time to test out the sand.

I love the blue!! So summery and pretty! We put landscaping paper at the bottom of ours too, but after a few years we are now getting some weeds growing in it. My girls still love their sandbox and play in it daily! I wish I had a roof for ours though!
Emily was very specific in selecting the color: turquoise LOL I didn’t even realize a 3 or 4 yo knew the variations. She can barely pronounce it but knows exactly what it looks like.
