The 2016-2017 Broadway in Fort Lauderdale season was just announced and I am over the moon about it! Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Matilda The Musical, oh my! Next season will be phenomenal and definitely the season of family. I can’t wait to take Emily to see all of her favorite shows as a musical.

This season I took her to see Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! and Disney in Concert and she couldn’t stop talking about the shows for days. Here is the official line up for the 2016-2017 Broadway in Fort Lauderdale season at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

Rodgers + Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA -December 13 – 25, 2016

Joining her are Sebastian, Ariel’s crabby sidekick; Ursula, the evil sea witch; Triton, King of the Sea and the handsome and human Prince Eric. Based on the Disney animated film and hit Broadway musical, the show features all the songs you love, as well as new songs with music by Oscar-winning Disney composer Alan Menken, and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glen Slater. Something Rotten! – March 21 – April 2, 2017

SOMETHING ROTTEN! is “Broadway’s big, fat hit!” (New York Post). Set in 1595, this hilarious smash tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom, two brothers who are desperate to write a hit play. When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first MUSICAL!
