2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards Recap

Disclosure: I received a complimentary ticket to attend this show.

Latin Music Awards

“Dance like nobody’s watching; love like you’ve never been hurt. Sing like nobody’s listening; live like it’s heaven on earth.”

This is a quote that I love and enjoy to its fullest. Only one culture I know that defines it like no other is the Hispanic culture. The music of the Hispanic culture brings you the sounds of love, makes you want to sing and sends you into a dancing frenzy.

Growing up listening to the many different sounds of Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata was an awesome experience that I hope to be able to share with my children. Having the chance to attend the 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards was not even something I had ever dared to dream of.

First came the famous walk down the Red Carpet. The gowns and styles of the Latina women that arrived for the awards show showed style, class and power.

The men dressed equally as stylish and were looking quite the part of a leading man.

The stage was electric and amazing. The set up was incredible. Two main stages, two outer platforms and two presenters stages and one main outer center stage.

The performers like Enrique Iglesias were simply unforgettable. I sang along as I dreamed of being on stage dancing with him.

I couldn’t resist taking a selfie at the 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards for a night that I will never forget.

Andrea Bocelli…..words cannot describe the energy of this mans voice. He has the most stunning vocals I have ever heard in my life.

With the soulful sounds of Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony, David Bisal and the ever incredible Andrea Bocelli, the night was undeniably magical in every way.  Celebrating in style is the only way to do it at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, which was celebrating its 25th anniversary. However, I can honestly say that I speak for everyone that was in attendance, the duet of Andrea Bocelli and Laura Pausini singing their 2009 hit “Vive Ya” will go down in history as the highlight of the year.

Check out some of the top winners of the night:

  • The highly coveted top award of Artist of the Year went to the ever magical Marc Anthony, as well as Hot Latin Song of the Year for “Vivir Mi Vida”.
  • The Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event went to Enrique Iglesias featuring Romeo Santos for their song “Loco”.
  • Daddy Yankee took home awards for Latin Rhythm Song of the Year for ‘Limbo” as well as for Solo Latin Rhythm Albums Artist of the Year.
  • The one and only Don Omar beat out the other finalists for Solo Latin Rhythm Songs Artist of the Year.
  • Latin Rhythm Albums Artist of the Year, Duo or Group and Latin Rhythm Album of the Year went to Wisin & Yandel.
  • Latin Rhythm Albums Imprint of the Year and Latin Rhythm Airplay Imprint of the Year were awarded to Machete.

See this guy here, that’s David Bisal. His voice and his hair make me crazy for him. I’d like to nominate him for Best Latin Hair of the Year.
